Job Title: Cover Supervisor

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cover Supervisor to support secondary schools in Salford. As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our schools, providing cover for absent teachers and supporting students in their learning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Classroom Supervision: Supervise and manage secondary school classes during the short-term absence of the assigned teacher, ensuring that students complete pre-set work and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Supporting Student Learning: Assist students with understanding and completing tasks, as necessary. Encourage and maintain focus during lessons.
  • Behaviour Management: Ensure students are engaged, well-behaved, and following school policies. Handle any classroom issues calmly and effectively.
  • Lesson Delivery: Deliver pre-planned lessons to students across a range of subjects (no need to plan or mark work). Follow the school's lesson plans and guidelines.
  • Administrative Duties: Complete basic administrative tasks such as taking attendance, distributing learning materials, and maintaining records as required by the school.
  • Liaison with Staff: Work closely with other school staff, including teachers, teaching assistants, and leadership teams, to ensure a smooth handover of lessons and daily duties.
  • Support for Students: Provide additional help to students who may need support with tasks, fostering a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere.
  • School Policies: Adhere to all school policies, including safeguarding, health and safety, and equal opportunities.
Position Details:
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm
  • Location: Secondary schools in Salford
