We are seeking a dedicated and versatile individual to join our team at HMP Littlehey, a Category C & Male/YOI prison. As a Facilities Maintenance Operative, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced and passionate colleagues who vary from Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, to Cleaners, and Administrators, and others, who are all dedicated to making a positive difference, providing a safe and secure environment for all.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in the maintenance and repair of prison facilities, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks.
- Provide escort services for prisoners and staff, ensuring their safety and security.
- Work collaboratively with the facilities management team to ensure the smooth operation of the prison.
- Contribute to the upkeep of the prison's building fabric, including cleaning and minor repairs.
- Develop and maintain good health and safety knowledge, ensuring a safe working environment for all.
- Experience of working in a prison environment or a similar setting.
- Ability to use hand and power tools, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Previous experience of working within a building fabric or hard FM environment.
- Up-to-date First Aid at Work qualification.
- Level 2 qualification in English and Maths.
- Good health and safety knowledge.
- Excellent organisational, time management, and people skills.
