Flood Risk Engineer Job Description

M-EC Consulting Development Engineers is seeking a skilled Flood Risk Engineer to join our team in Leicestershire or Birmingham. As a Flood Risk Engineer, you will play a crucial role in managing residential, commercial, and public sector projects, ensuring compliance with flood risk standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct flood risk assessments, including site data capture and processing, to identify potential flood risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Develop surface water drainage strategy designs for proposed development sites, incorporating sustainable drainage techniques and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Assist with project management, including administration, client liaison, quality control, and resource management.
  • Collaborate with the team to meet productivity and growth aspirations, ensuring timely completion of projects and delivery of high-quality results.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their needs and develop solutions that meet their requirements.
Requirements:
  • Active involvement in undertaking flood risk assessments and developing strategies to mitigate flood risks.
  • Strong knowledge of flood risk standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in the use of Micro Drainage and flood modelling software packages, as well as AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and develop innovative solutions.
  • Hold a degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, with relevant experience in flood risk engineering and management.
