Automotive Yard Handler

At Clover HR, we are seeking a dedicated and skilled Automotive Yard Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the yard area, assisting with shipping and receiving tasks, and ensuring that materials are handled efficiently.

The role involves a range of activities, including:

1. Communicating all relevant information/issues to the team leader.
2. Able to follow and comply with Safe Working Methods (SWM's).
3. Ensuring compliance with and adherence to all Health & Safety policies including the correct use and wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE).
4. Ensuring finished materials are safely loaded onto vehicles for onward shipment to customers.
5. Unload, sort, and prepare materials for onward processing.
6. Maintain the yard and carry out all activities required in this area.
7. Maintain high levels of hygiene/housekeeping standards.
8. Use of mobile plant including FLT's, Telehandler, Excavator, Overhead Crane (OHC), etc.
9. Ensuring SOPs are adhered to for plant machinery.
10. Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any mechanical issues.

Previous experience in a warehouse or yard environment is preferred, along with experience driving and operating heavy machinery, in particular FLT's, and ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 kg) consistently throughout the shift. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing inventory are also essential. A proactive attitude towards safety and teamwork is crucial for success in this role.
