Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and ambitious individual with outstanding leadership and planning skills to lead our busy Estates Department. As Head of Estates, you will be responsible for the strategy, operations, and compliance of our estate, putting the welfare and safety of our animals, people, and supporters at its heart.

  • Develop and implement operational strategies and prioritise activities to ensure sustainable estate development and management.
  • Inspire and lead the Estates staff and managers, setting clear performance standards and targets.
  • Regularly review and adjust the Estates budget, ensuring it is accurately forecasted and informed by latest information and data.

You will work collaboratively with our Farms and Ecology teams to support our Land Management approach, which benefits donkey welfare. You will also contribute to the development of a new estates and sustainability strategy, delivered through a planned programme of works that will future-proof our built estate.

Required Skills and Qualifications

We are looking for a professionally qualified member of RICS or equivalent with a proven track record of senior management experience in large organisation estates. You will have successfully managed complex large-scale projects and be able to analyse complex problems and balance conflicting priorities to devise solutions.
