Procurement Manager

SmartPro is seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team in Port Talbot. As a key member of our procurement team, you will play a vital role in managing the procurement process and driving efficiencies within our supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:- Raise raw material purchase orders in line with our ERP system requirements.
- Send out RFQs to suppliers and negotiate prices and delivery terms.
- Identify opportunities for improvement within procurement and material functions, focusing on reducing stock levels, shortening supplier lead times, and improving stock availability.
- Participate in production meetings to ensure that material availability supports production requirements.
- Manage the sourcing process and ERP transactions to optimise internal efficiency and minimise costs.
- Work closely with suppliers and internal teams to resolve procurement-related issues or discrepancies.
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience in a procurement role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong proficiency in IT, particularly with Excel and ERP systems.
- Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively to tight deadlines and make informed decisions under pressure.
- A proactive, methodical, and organised approach to tasks.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on building and maintaining collaborative relationships.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills within a manufacturing organisation.
- GCSEs in Maths and English (Grades A-C).
