Apprenticeship Overview
Our apprenticeship program is designed to provide individuals with the skills and knowledge required to become a qualified General Welder. Through a combination of on-the-job training and classroom instruction, apprentices will learn the fundamentals of welding, including dimensional and surface inspection, material preparation, and hazard identification.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform welding tasks to meet international standards for dimensional and surface inspection
- Prepare and protect materials and work areas for welding
- Identify and understand the causes of typical welding defects and develop strategies to reduce their occurrence
- Understand and identify hazards and basic health, safety, and quality requirements when welding
- Plan and prepare to ensure production and Continuing Professional Development goals are achieved
- Deliver high-quality work and consistently meet expectations in production, quality, work ethics, and self-development
Qualifications and Requirements
- GCSE Grade 3 or above in English and Maths
- Interest in Engineering
- Focused and dedicated approach to learning and development
- Creativity, boldness, curiosity, ambition, and commitment
