Quantity Surveyor Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Humres, a market leading and growing civil engineering, RC Frame, Remediation, Demolition, Decommissioning and Enabling contractor. Our projects are based in the Midlands area and offer a range of interesting and high-profile opportunities.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will have the opportunity to work across a variety of projects, taking ownership for developing relationships with clients and working as part of a well-established integrated delivery team. Our projects vary, giving you exposure to different contract types, schemes, clients and challenges, and you will be supported in developing your skills to ensure you have well-rounded experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Overseeing a specific portfolio of projects
  2. Ensuring all Commercial Activities are performed in an ethical manner while maintaining a competitive position
  3. Reviewing and managing Risk and Opportunities
  4. Ensuring cash flow is maintained
  5. Ensuring accurate Month-End CVR Reporting
  6. Pricing of change orders
  7. Measurement of client design drawings with a particular focus on remediation, earthworks, civils, and substructures, amongst other areas
  8. Dealing with subcontractor orders and general paperwork
  9. Procurement of materials and subcontracts
  10. Creating monthly applications towards client and understanding and developing project budgets
  11. Dealing with client queries related to scope of works

Key skills and experience required for this role include:

  1. Background within quantity surveyor role for civils/remediation contractor
  2. Excellent organisational and communication skills
  3. Strong commercial awareness
  4. Team player, who has the ability to self-start and work independently
  5. Willingness to develop and learn
  6. Ability to prioritise works and meet deadlines
  7. Honest and Reliable
