CNC Wood Machinist Operator Job Description

GBR Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced CNC Wood Machinist Operator to join our team in a well-established and progressive Carpentry/Joinery business. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating and setting up 3 Axis Casadei Busellato CNC machines, producing wood cut lists for client projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Configure, set, and operate 3 Axis Casadei Busellato CNC machines to fabricate parts.
  • Assist with other woodworking tasks, including wood preparation and finishing.
  • Operate power tools and woodworking machinery, including CNC, crosscut saw, wall and vertical panel saw, table saw/bench saw, mitre/chop saw, edge bander, planer, abrasive wheels, drills, laminator, and more.
  • Assist in the workshop with pre-install assembly works, including mock builds, dismantling, and packaging of components/parts.
  • Maintain workshop housekeeping, including cleaning of work areas, waste removal, and storing raw materials.
  • Perform general woodworking workshop duties as requested.
Requirements:
  • Time-served CNC Operator/Wood Machinist with 3 Axis CNC machinery experience, preferably using a Casadei Busellato CNC Machine.
  • Experience of working on cutting lists for an array of woodworking projects, cutting wood to the desired thickness, width, and lengths for workshop assembly or onsite assembly.
  • Eye for detail and some form of inspection/QC experience.
  • Previous Joinery/Carpentry experience (even basic) would be beneficial.
