London, Greater London, United Kingdom Field Energy Full time

The Procurement and Commercial Manager will lead construction procurement activities and support ongoing in-life project commercial contract management. You will also lead O&M and asset management procurement activities and contract management.

This role reports directly to the Head of Procurement & Supply Chain, in a team responsible for £1bn of spend over the next two years, across multiple geographies.

You will help manage Field's tender processes for each of our assets, ensuring we achieve the optimal price without compromising on quality of delivery. You will be the key commercial point of contact for our construction tenders, helping to negotiate robust contracts alongside Legal with suitable commercial structures that protect Field and ensure contractors are appropriately incentivised.

During the execution phase of our projects, you will work closely with contractors, internal technical teams, and our finance and legal teams to validate variations from the scope, applying the required commercial scrutiny.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build a Best-in-Class Supplier/Contractor Network
    • Stay informed on industry developments, new market entrants, and contractor/supplier capabilities.
    • Network to build our contractor/supplier database and find partners that can work with Field to meet our ambitions.
  • Lead Construction Tenders
    • Define our procurement strategy across multiple capital projects (EPC full wrap, partial wrap, split, etc.).
    • Carry out full construction tenders, issuing RFI/Qs, prequalifying suppliers, and defining clear metrics to assess their commercial submissions.
    • Negotiate commercially favourable outcomes for Field.
    • Work with Legal to refine key contract clauses, such as liquidated damages, warranties, and limitations of liability.
    • Onboard new contractors and refine our project requirements with our in-house technical team.
    • Ensure contractors' proposals are comprehensive and commercially watertight.
  • Lead Procurement of O&M and Asset Management Services
    • Carry out end-to-end procurement activities for O&M contracts, running concurrently with construction project procurement activities.
    • Carry out end-to-end procurement activities for asset management services in time for projects to enter commercial operations.
  • Support Construction Project Managers
    • Work with finance, technical teams, and the Head of Procurement & Supply Chain to evaluate contract variations, extensions of time, and amend the schedule of works and pricing.
    • Carry out commercial variation work in accordance with the obligations of our lenders.
  • Continuous Improvement and Team Building
    • Identify weaknesses in our processes and continually strive to improve the way we work.
    • Implement new systems/software and roll out to cross-functional teams.
    • Assist in finding new talent to grow the team.
    • Onboard new members of the construction procurement team and work with them to build best-in-class scalable processes and procedures.
Salary:

We offer a competitive salary range of £80,000 - £100,000 per annum, along with a range of benefits, including participation in our employee share scheme, up to 10% company-wide bonus based on performance, hybrid working, and more.
