Anaesthetist Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Anaesthetist to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality anaesthetic services to patients, as well as contributing to the development and delivery of our anaesthesia services.
About the RoleThe post holder will be a key member of our anaesthesia team, working closely with other consultants, junior doctors, and other healthcare professionals to provide a comprehensive anaesthetic service. The successful candidate will have a strong background in anaesthesia, with experience in delivering anaesthesia for general, major, and high-risk surgery, as well as trauma and emergency anaesthesia.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality anaesthetic services to patients, including pre-operative assessment, anaesthesia, and post-operative care.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of our anaesthesia services, including the development of clinical guidelines and protocols.
- Work closely with other consultants, junior doctors, and other healthcare professionals to provide a comprehensive anaesthetic service.
- Participate in the on-call rota and provide emergency anaesthesia services as required.
- Contribute to the education and training of junior doctors and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in clinical governance and audit activities to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
The successful candidate will have:
- A strong background in anaesthesia, with experience in delivering anaesthesia for general, major, and high-risk surgery, as well as trauma and emergency anaesthesia.
- Experience in pre-operative assessment, anaesthesia, and post-operative care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to contribute to the development and delivery of clinical guidelines and protocols.
