FPGA Design Engineer

Rolls-Royce is seeking a skilled FPGA Design Engineer to join our Submarines business. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and verifying FPGA-based systems that meet the highest safety integrity requirements.
About the Role:We are looking for a talented engineer with experience in designing and verifying FPGA-based systems. You will work closely with our safety-critical FPGA development team to develop high-integrity FPGA-based applications using the latest state-of-the-art toolsets.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop requirements, from equipment to implementation level, for FPGA-based designs
- Develop and verify VHDL code
- Support hardware-based testing of designs
- Author and review design documentation
- Liaise with Software, Hardware, Systems, and Verification teams to ensure customer expectations are met effectively and efficiently
- Be qualified to Degree level (or equivalent experience) in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
- Have experience in designing and verifying designs expressed using VHDL
- Have the ability to provide clear, concise, and accurate technical reports
- Experience of languages such as SystemVerilog, TCL, and Python, and tools such as Siemens - QuestaSim / ModelSim, Siemens - Questa PropCheck, and Synopsys - Synplify Pro would be beneficial

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines, you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don't currently already have this in place. Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets, you must hold a UK nationality. Any dual nationals will require additional scrutiny and background checks prior to commencing work with RRSL.
