Job Title: Freight Operations Specialist

At Jackson Hogg Ltd, we are seeking a highly skilled Freight Operations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our logistics department, you will be responsible for coordinating freight movements across the UK and Europe.

About the Role

The Freight Operations Specialist will play a crucial role in optimizing freight operations, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods. You will be responsible for planning and organizing freight routes, liaising with drivers and subcontractors, and collaborating with the customer service and warehousing teams to coordinate inbound and outbound freight.

Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and organize freight routes across the UK and Europe to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.
  2. Liaise with drivers, subcontractors, and third-party carriers to ensure smooth freight operations.
  3. Collaborate with the customer service and warehousing teams to coordinate inbound and outbound freight.
  4. Manage documentation and compliance, ensuring adherence to customs and regulatory requirements.
  5. Analyze freight performance, suggesting and implementing improvements where necessary.

Requirements:

  1. Previous experience in freight operations or transportation planning is essential.
  2. Strong understanding of freight regulations and compliance in the UK and Europe.
  3. Proficiency with transportation management systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
