Performance Improvement Specialist
">About the OpportunityWe are looking for an experienced professional to lead operational improvements at a Power Facility in Teesside, UK.
The estimated annual salary for this role is around £55,000 based on 20 hours of work per week and 52 weeks per year.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and compliance with established standards.
- Identify and address operational bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
- Implement performance metrics to monitor and improve operational outputs.
- Develop and execute improvement plans using methodologies like Lean, Six Sigma, or similar frameworks.
- Analyse performance trends and implement corrective actions to address systemic issues.
- Ensure improvements are embedded and sustained through effective process control.
- Lead HSSE initiatives to foster a culture of safety and compliance.
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments, ensuring all activities meet regulatory and company standards.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to develop and execute preventative and predictive maintenance schedules.
- Drive initiatives to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
- Support procurement activities to ensure the availability of critical materials and services.
- Work collaboratively to optimise supplier relationships and reduce costs without compromising quality.
- Mentor and coach plant personnel to build capability and resilience within the team.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration to enhance operational performance.
- Act as a liaison between the customer's HQ and the facility, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
Requirements
- Proven experience in power plant, process plant, or similar operational management roles.
- Demonstrated expertise in continuous improvement and process optimisation.
- Strong background in team management, with the ability to motivate and develop diverse teams.
- In-depth knowledge of HSSE protocols and best practices.
- Familiarity with procurement and supply chain processes in an industrial setting.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Results-driven with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Adaptable and able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
