About the Role:

Morris Lane Ltd is seeking a highly motivated and aspiring Tax Assistant to join our team of experienced accountants. As a Tax Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our tax team by handling compliance tasks and assisting with various tax advisory projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation and filing of both corporation and income tax returns for a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring adherence to all regulatory deadlines and compliance standards.
  • Tax Reporting: Support the preparation of quarterly and annual tax reports, maintaining accurate and detailed records for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Client Interaction: Communicate with clients to collect necessary documentation, answer queries, and provide general tax support.
  • Team: Stay up to date with changes in tax laws and regulations and provide administrative and technical support to our team of accountants.

Candidate Requirements:

  • A minimum of one year's experience in a tax assistant role within an accountancy practice in the UK.
  • Relevant qualification such as AAT, ATT, CTA.
  • A solid understanding of UK Tax and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office products, notably Excel.
  • Analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enthusiasm for accounting and a willingness to embrace challenges.
