About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Legal Aid Billing Manager/Co-ordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in family legal aid, with a proven track record of preparing and submitting legal aid bills, applying for payments on accounts, and liaising with relevant bodies.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and finalize legal aid bills, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations
- Apply for payments on accounts and chase final orders from the court
- Liaise with counsel, courts, and other stakeholders to resolve billing and payment issues
- Manage and prioritize workloads to meet billing requirements and deadlines
- Collaborate with the team to ensure seamless billing and payment processes
- Good knowledge of family legal aid and relevant regulations
- Experience with legal aid KPIs and audits
- Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Excel
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Competitive salary of up to £35,000 (dependent on experience)
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and additional holiday entitlement
