About the Role

As a Prisoner Escort and Custody Officer at Serco, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and secure transportation of prisoners to and from courts. You will work as part of a team to provide exceptional care and support to prisoners, ensuring their physical and mental wellbeing throughout their journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accompany prisoners to and from courts, ensuring their safety and security at all times
  • Search prisoners and their property to prevent the introduction of contraband
  • Provide support and care to prisoners, including ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met
  • Complete paperwork and data entry to maintain accurate records
  • Work collaboratively with other teams to ensure the smooth operation of the prison escort and custody service
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current driver's license
  • A C1 License (valid CPC card desirable) or D License (with valid CPC card and Tacho Graph desirable)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work in a team and build strong relationships with colleagues and prisoners
