Job Title: Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Commercial Expert
Location: South West England - Hybrid
Hours: 37.5 - Monday to Friday
Salary: Competitive salary dependant on qualifications, skills, and experience with company benefits
About the Role:
The Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Commercial Expert role is a key position within the Chevron Traffic Management team, assisting the commercial and senior management team in ensuring efficient contract delivery and exceeding the budgeted performance.
Responsibilities:
- Managing costs and suggesting journal requests if needed
- Reviewing monthly management accounts and key performance information
- Monitoring and maintaining the data within the Company Inhouse Works Management System
- Ensuring the timely and accurate billing of works
- Managing the Early Warning and Compensation Event process
- Managing client disputes
- Creating in-contract pricing, estimates, and quotations
- Assisting with recovering aged debt and cash collection
- Helping to prepare revenue reports and monthly management accounts
- Contributing to the overall management of commercial aspects of all contracts, including ensuring costs and revenue in correct periods
Requirements:
- Excellent negotiating skills
- Experience working within a commercial setting
- Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of software - especially Excel
- Confident to work with an IT/Digital system-led solution to commercial management
- Ability to build new and existing relationships with clients and suppliers
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge and experience of Temporary Traffic Management
- Good understanding of the NEC form of Contract
- Understanding of management accounts and financial reporting processes
- Previous demonstrable experience in quantity surveying
