Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our site-based team at EMCOR UK. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance works to building services systems within a group of client buildings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and control the operation of building critical systems
  • Perform PPM and reactive maintenance to all client HVAC assets, including gas-fired appliances, steam systems, air conditioning, refrigeration, and chiller systems
  • Ensure that plant faults and defects are swiftly remedied to maintain plant in serviceable order at all times
  • Maintain asset records on the client's PPM/helpdesk system using a tablet device
  • Ensure accurate and comprehensive records are kept for statutory tasks, health and safety, building compliance, and quality assurance
  • Escort and monitor specialist subcontractors
  • Operate within a permit-to-work system in accordance with EMCOR UK procedures
  • Assist with routine quality assurance checks on work activities, record keeping, and general housekeeping
  • Ensure suitable spares are available for maintenance of the above plant
  • Oversee building environmental conditions using the BMS system and utilize it to maintain acceptable internal conditions
  • Prepare method statements and risk assessments for all tasks carried out to ensure safe working practices
  • Maintain and develop good client relationships
  • Ensure a safe and healthy working environment
  • Presentation of a professional image of EMCOR UK to clients and visitors
  • Participation in the out-of-hours on-call rota

Requirements:

  • Formal training in electrical systems/installation and relevant qualifications
  • General knowledge of maintaining HVAC plant, building support systems, and their methods of control, including inverter drives
  • Knowledge or awareness of BMS and electrical systems
  • Experience of maintaining high-specification plant serving laboratory and office environments
  • IOSH Working Safely
  • Able to read M&E drawings
  • Good electrical/mechanical knowledge
  • Good communication skills
  • Committed to delivering excellent customer service
  • Flexible working, with availability on a callout rota
  • Calm manner, able to work under pressure
  • Able to make sound decisions when needed
  • Able to ascend and descend vertical access equipment
  • Able to work at heights
