Job Description

Role: Test Equipment Hardware Engineer

Location: Remote (with occasional on-site visits)

Duration: 12 months

Rate: Up to £75/hour (Umbrella only)

Job Type: Contract

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Test Equipment Hardware Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our integrated product team, you will be responsible for leading, specifying, designing, and developing test equipment solutions for power distribution and control programs.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement test equipment hardware for qualification
  2. Execute the requirements, design, implementation, and verification of assigned test systems using sound engineering principles
  3. Act as an engineering interface to the project manager, clearly articulating the technical direction and decisions
  4. Liaise and interface with other functions, such as systems, hardware, programs, manufacturing, sustainment, and other stakeholders
  5. Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned test systems and/or tasks
  6. Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
  7. Provide technical guidance and leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project
Requirements
  • Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Experience of test system design, development, and hardware/software integration ideally gained in an aviation or similar high-integrity environment
  • Good problem-solving and solution-building skills
  • Excellent communication skills to team, peers, and all levels of management
  • Demonstrated ability for independent and sound technical judgment, identification of problems, and formulating solutions

  • Ability to deliver solutions on-time, to budget, and with the required quality
  • Positive attitude, initiative, pro-activeness, and an enthusiasm and passion
  • Experience of mentoring less experienced engineers

  • Ability to travel to customer facilities to support and diagnose test equipment faults
