Job Summary

Premier Engineering is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Salisbury. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing new products, working on full lifecycle design projects, and liaising with manufacturing providers.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and develop new products using CAD software
  2. Work on full lifecycle design projects from concept to delivery
  3. Liaise with manufacturing providers to ensure smooth production
  4. Be involved in final assembly of products and create required documentation
  5. Update 3D models and drawings, and input parts into the MRP system
  6. Check drawings for sign off and work in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, excellent proficiency with CAD software, and experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or similar industries.

Requirements
  1. 2 years or more of experience in a similar Design / Mechanical Engineering position
  2. Excellent proficiency with CAD software - ideally SolidWorks
  3. Experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, fluid handling, hydraulics, piping, instrumentation, structural steel or similar industries would be beneficial
  4. Knowledge of sheet metal, injection moulded plastics, welding, fabrication, castings, etc.
  5. Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  6. Proven ability to drive Engineering development
  7. Good mathematical and general engineering knowledge
  8. The ability to understand system requirements
  9. Be self-motivated with excellent attention to detail
  10. Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
