Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Tax Assistant to join our Corporate Accounting team at TÜV SÜD. As a key member of our team, you will assist the Tax Accountant with the preparation of various State filings and Corporate Compliance Reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare state and local filings timely and accurately, including sales and use tax, annual reports, business licenses, unclaimed property, and 1099 forms.
  • Provide completed filing packages and payment confirmations to the Tax Accountant for review.
  • Resolve incoming tax notices, identify root causes, and follow up with tax authorities and third-party tax advisors.
  • Maintain and organize corporate documents and tax files in digital format.
  • Assist with tax research and special projects, with varying levels of involvement and responsibility.
  • Assist the Tax Accountant with data preparation for transfer pricing review and year-end tax provisions.
  • Assist in sales tax review and manage billing process for Digital Academy.
  • Stay up-to-date with developments in the field of direct responsibility.
  • Assist with annual compliance reporting.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Tax or Finance required.
  • Experience with sales/use tax and 1099 filings desirable.
  • Strong Excel skills, including v-lookup and pivot tables.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven business environment.
  • Focused, detail-oriented, and organized.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • High level of confidentiality.
