Job Description:

In this exciting role as a specialist speech therapist, you will be working with adults who have acquired communication and swallowing disorders. With at least one year of experience in the field, you will provide expert assessment and treatment to patients in a friendly and supportive team environment.

The ideal candidate will have a recognised degree qualification in speech and language therapy, a licence to practice from the Health and Care Professions Council, and registration with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists. You will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and expertise in managing patients with complex communication and swallowing needs. You will be exposed to videofluoroscopy and tracheostomy management, as well as quality improvement initiatives. In return for your hard work and dedication, we offer a competitive salary of £43,441 - £51,168 per annum, depending on experience.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To manage a caseload of adults with swallowing and communication disorders.
  • To deliver training and teaching to SLT colleagues and students.
  • To participate in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) through internal training and external courses.
  • To work closely with the multidisciplinary team to optimise patient experience.
  • To supervise band 5 SLTs, band 3/4 assistants, and students.
