Principal Civil Engineer - Wastewater Treatment

Job Role: Principal Civil Engineer - Wastewater projects

Salary: £75,000 - £80,000 + package depending on level of experience

Location: Coventry or Derby (Hybrid working available)

This is an exciting opportunity to join our client's Capital and Commercial Services team as a Principal Engineer in the Wastewater Team. They are investing heavily in waste treatment over the next five years, making a significant impact on the environment and surrounding communities.

About the role:

  1. To provide technical leadership and expertise on all aspects of optioneering and design for wastewater treatment projects, driving innovative and efficient solutions.
  2. To support the Waste Treatment Core Design Team and contribute to the development of the technical capability of team members through coaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
  3. To oversee the creation of designs and specifications for wastewater treatment projects, ensuring consideration of health & safety, commissioning, and other key factors.
  4. To identify and review deviations from our client's standards and collaborate with the Project Management Team to address these deviations.
  5. To communicate lessons learned from the project to the wider business and contribute to the development of younger and less experienced engineers working on the programme of work.
  6. To establish a network of internal and external stakeholders to capture learnings, understand innovation, and best practice, and incorporate these into the plans for Capital Design technical standards.

About you:

  1. UK experience with the design of clean and wastewater projects.
  2. Ideally be chartered, or a member of a relevant engineering institution.
  3. A passion for solving engineering problems, the ability to lead and inspire, and the confidence to drive through challenging solutions.
