The ideal candidate will have a degree in Estate Management, equivalent or RICS qualified, with a proven track record of buying land in the regional area. Strong negotiation and networking skills, as well as excellent communication skills, are essential for this role. The candidate will also be able to assess and analyze information, work under pressure, and make informed decisions.

The Land Acquisition Director will be responsible for facilitating the purchase of land assets, monitoring the land bank, and ensuring supply is maintained as necessary. They will also be responsible for purchasing land profitably, while adhering to the company's required profit margins. The role will involve monitoring local plans throughout the region, managing the promotion of land within the strategic land bank, and reporting on land asset issues and purchases at regional board meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Facilitate the purchase of land assets and maintain the region's balance sheet assets.
  2. Support the management of the planning process within the region.
  3. Monitor the land bank and aim to maintain supply as necessary.
  4. Purchase land as profitably as possible, while adhering to the company's required profit margins.
  5. Monitor local plans throughout the region and manage the promotion of land within the strategic land bank.
  6. Report on all land asset issues and purchases at regional board meetings.
  7. Undertake market research and gain market and competitor knowledge.
  8. Contribute effectively to the running of the region through membership of the regional board of directors.
  9. Attend region Management Team/Board meetings to advise on land issues.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Estate Management, equivalent or RICS qualified.
  • Proven track record of buying land in the regional area.
  • Strong negotiation and networking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Able to assess and analyze information.
  • Work under pressure.
  • Make informed decisions.
