About the Role

The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced ENT Surgeon to join our dynamic team. As a Consultant Otolaryngologist, you will play a key role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our Ear, Nose and Throat department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a comprehensive service in Ear, Nose and Throat surgery, working closely with Consultant and Senior colleagues.
  • Participate in the out-of-hours On-Call service for the department, providing telephone advice and support as needed.
  • Provide cover for Consultant and Senior colleagues during periods of leave, ensuring continuity of care for patients.
  • Contribute to medical audit and research, staying up-to-date with the latest developments in ENT surgery.
  • Ensure that clinical governance requirements are met, maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.
  • Supervise and manage junior medical staff, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development.
  • Take an active role in the management of the department, working with Divisional Manager and Consultant colleagues to develop and implement new ways of working.
Person Specification
  • Full registration and a licence to practise with the GMC, with entry on the GMC Specialist Register via CCT or CESR (CP).
  • Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCST in Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery, with demonstrable training and expertise in a sub-specialty area.
  • Evidence of audit and the implementation of change following the audit, demonstrating a commitment to quality improvement.
  • Ability to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of problems, both emergency and elective, within ENT surgery.
