Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Specialist to join our team at Jupiter Recruitment. As a key member of our clinical team, you will be responsible for assessing and admitting new patients to our rehabilitation service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting thorough assessments and admissions of new patients
  • Obtaining collateral histories from other professionals and family members
  • Formulating diagnoses in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team
  • Completing physical health assessments and working closely with our GP's and Physical Health Nurse to improve patient wellbeing
  • Completing discharge letters/reports/SOAD forms
  • Supporting the adequate working of the Care Programme Approach and Care and treatment plans for service users
  • Liaising with external professionals and working collaboratively with commissioners and external care teams to aid seamless transitions to the community
  • Contributing to service development by participating in Clinical Governance activities, quality initiatives, audits, research and teaching
  • Providing leadership of the clinical team and preparing First-tier Tribunal and Hospital Managers' hearing reports under the supervision of the Consultant

The ideal candidate will have experience working in psychiatry within multi-disciplinary teams, be in good standing with the Royal College of Psychiatrists, and have had an Appraisal/RITA within the last year. A minimum of 3 years' experience in Psychiatry is also required.
