We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented finance professional to join our expanding team in Henley-on-Thames. As an Assistant Management Accountant, you will play a key role in managing financial operations and supporting decision-making processes.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will have intermediate to advanced Excel skills for effective data management. A qualified or part-qualified accountant status with 3-5 years' experience in management accounting or a similar role is required. Knowledge of Xero is desirable but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Preparing monthly management accounts and handling bookkeeping.
  2. Coordinating with payroll providers and performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  3. Managing intercompany balances and maintaining primary responsibility for company banking.
  4. Preparing statistical returns and cost journals to ensure accurate expense recognition.
  5. Managing the Fixed Asset register and depreciation schedules.
  6. Supporting forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning activities.
  7. Preparing key financial documents, including income statements and balance sheets.
  8. Conducting analytical reviews to identify performance trends and recommending improvements.
  9. Handling year-end schedules and managing sales commissions calculations on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  10. Monitoring financial controls and improving financial information systems for greater efficiency.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain financial information to colleagues at all levels.
  • A competitive salary of £25,000 - £35,000 per annum.
  • A discretionary bonus of up to 30% of base salary.
  • Financial study support towards CIMA or ACCA (if needed).
  • Generous holiday entitlement of 33 days (inclusive of Bank Holidays).
  • Free onsite parking.
Essential:

Must be able to work from the office. Flexible working can be discussed at interview stage.

Hours of Work:

8.30am-5.30pm (with some flexibility of start/finish times).
