Engineering & Maintenance Manager - EFW


About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Engineering & Maintenance Manager to join our team at MC Technical Recruitment Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing and directing a team of mechanical, electrical, and C&I technicians to ensure minimum plant downtime and maximum availability.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Management: Lead and direct a team of skilled technicians to ensure the efficient operation of the plant.
  2. Plant Shutdowns: Plan and execute plant shutdowns and outages to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.
  3. Maintenance Budget: Manage the department's maintenance budget to ensure effective use of resources.
  4. Maintenance Schedule: Oversee the management of the maintenance schedule to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  5. Record Keeping: Develop and maintain records of plant maintenance, including work orders, PPMs, and planned and unplanned outages and inspections.
  6. Contractor Management: Oversee on-site contractors to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  1. Qualifications: A minimum of a HNC in a relevant engineering discipline, ideally mechanical.
  2. Experience: At least 5 years of experience in maintenance/engineering in a relevant heavy process industry, ideally power generation, but also chemical production, aggregate, or similar.
  3. Skills: A solid practical understanding of boilers, steam generation, pressure parts, and associated equipment.
  4. Management Experience: Ideally experience with managing a team/department budget and experience in a management or supervisory level role.
  5. Certifications: An IOSH or NEBOSH would be preferred but is not essential.
