About the Role

  • Location: Remote or Hybrid available
  • Salary: £35,000 - £60,000 + excellent benefits

Job Summary

We are a leading provider of bespoke solutions for Land and Maritime domains, with three decades of experience in designing, developing, and manufacturing advanced technology solutions. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in the development of high-performance targeting and surveillance equipment for land and naval defence applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirements Capture and Management: Gather and document system requirements, ensuring alignment with project goals and customer needs.
  • Functional and Physical Systems Architecture Design and Definition: Develop and refine system architectures, considering system complexity and conflicting requirements.
  • System Modelling: Create and maintain system models, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Engineering Management Plans: Develop and implement plans for safety management, test integration and acceptance, technical risk management, and verification evidence gathering.
  • Procurement Specifications: Create procurement specifications for sub-systems and components, ensuring compliance with system requirements.
  • Test Specifications: Write test specifications to validate system performance and functionality.
  • Design Reviews: Conduct design reviews to ensure system design meets requirements and is feasible for implementation.
  • Environmental Qualification Plans: Develop plans for environmental qualification, including EMC, temperature, shock, and vibration testing.

Requirements

  • Education: Good degree in Engineering or physical sciences
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years' systems engineering experience in a defence engineering company or similar
  • Skills: Proficient in requirements management tools (DOORS, Visure, or R4J), work package management in JIRA, and report writing
