Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Environmental Hydraulic Modeller to join our team at JBA Consulting. The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental hydraulic modelling and a proven track record of delivering high-quality projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead environmental hydraulic modelling projects, including 1D and 2D modelling using HEC-RAS and/or TUFLOW.
  • Provide technical advice to internal and external clients on river and catchment restoration.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary project team to steer design and deliver projects to time, budget, and quality requirements.
  • Mentor and support junior staff in their professional development.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in environmental hydraulic modelling, including 1D and 2D modelling.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Ability to mentor and support junior staff.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to deliver projects to time, budget, and quality requirements.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience working with GIS and spatial analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of sediment transport, erosion, and deposition processes.
  • Contract management experience.

Working Arrangements:

The post would ideally be based in either our Saltaire or Coleshill office, but we can be flexible on location for the right candidate. JBA supports agile working, which provides for greater flexibility with the way that we work.
