Financial Accountant Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Financial Accountant to join our client's team in Craigavon. This is a part-time, temporary position that will require the successful candidate to work 2 days per week for approximately 4-6 weeks.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with computerised accounting packages and be proficient in using Excel. They will also possess excellent communication and team working skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain an effective accounting system.
  • Set up and monitor payment items, produce reports, and follow up on queries as required.
  • Reconcile monthly invoices, reports, and analyses as needed.
  • Support the Payroll function as required.
  • Assist the Senior Finance Officer with preparation of monthly management accounts, budget, and annual audit, including maintaining spreadsheets, producing reports, and other working papers as required.
  • Record day-to-day manual transactions in the Excel cheque journal and income book, ensuring all relevant data is collected and processed.
  • Complete postings for manual payments, direct debits, and payments and income onto the system.
  • Verify that transactions are posted to the correct ledger code and cost centre and analyse income and expenditures as required.
  • Undertake monthly bank reconciliations for all accounts and carry out regular cash flow analyses.
  • Generate invoices as required.
  • Maintain accurate financial records.

Requirements:
  • 5 GCSEs (A-C grade) or equivalent, including maths & English.
  • 2 years+ experience of working with computerised accounting packages.
  • Proven experience of effectively using a range of computer packages, in particular Excel.
  • Excellent communication and team working skills.

Estimated Salary: £15.86 per hour.
