As a Senior Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a key role in our Special Schools team at NELFT North East London Foundation Trust. We are looking for an experienced professional to join our team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality services to children, young people, and their families.
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will have significant experience in assessing and managing children with Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN) and will be able to plan and deliver training to other professionals.
About the Role
The Senior Specialist Speech and Language Therapist will be responsible for providing assessments and interventions to children with complex communication needs. This will involve working closely with schools and other stakeholders to develop and implement effective treatment plans. The successful candidate will also be required to lead AAC initiatives in school and train school staff on best practices.

Requirements
- Professional registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent
- Significant experience in assessing and managing children with SLCN
- Planning and delivery of training to other professionals
- Knowledge of assessment tools, treatment techniques, and therapeutic interventions
- Awareness of Government policy and legislation affecting service delivery
Working Arrangements
This post is based at two special schools in Waltham Forest and will involve supporting and line-managing a small team of therapists in school. The successful candidate will be required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service and may be required to attend meetings and training sessions outside of normal working hours.
