Job Description

Role Summary:

HCLTech is seeking a highly skilled Cost Management Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for maintaining project cost to complete budgets and ensuring accurate forecasting and cost control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Control and Forecasting: Maintain project cost to complete budgets in alignment with as sold position and in coordination with budget holders.
  • Financial Analysis: Support forecast estimation and verify the accuracy of actual to date cost (material, labor, manufactured costs, suppliers' invoices, timesheets, travel expenses).
  • Project Coordination: Align with project team and time schedule to ensure forecasted cost risks are accurately captured and costs time phased.
  • Cost Movement Analysis: Check and control cost movements, compare with current scope and progress as well as with previous forecast. Also compare with productivity factors and validate accuracy of estimates.
  • Communication and Risk Management: Communicate cost status/forecasts/risk to budget holders and drive/support risk mitigation and cost out.
  • Financial Reporting: Present all financial data in a transparent way, attend project and management review to present cost status, budget deviations and root causes.
  • Reconciliation and Alignment: Align with Finance Controller to ensure reconciliation takes place between approved project financial data and books.
  • Cost and Schedule Alignment: Align with planner to ensure costs and schedule are aligned, providing time phased cost forecasts for sales pacing. Report on cost movement root causes impacting sales targets.

Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified either in finance or may have engineering degree (with financial training)

Desired Knowledge and Experience:

  • Extensive experience of cost controlling of turnkey projects
  • Demonstrable experience of leading on large & complex infrastructure projects
  • Project finance deep understanding with expert knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Experience managing small teams within a large project
  • Risk management processes and tools understanding
  • Project planning experience/good P6 planning software understanding an advantage
