About the Job

We are recruiting for a Social Housing Repair Specialist to join our team in Crawley. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality repair and maintenance services to social housing properties.

As a Social Housing Repair Specialist, you will work closely with Crawley Council to identify and address disrepair issues across our portfolio of properties. You will be part of a local team undertaking multi-trade repairs and refurbishment activities, ensuring that all work meets the highest standards of safety, quality, and cost control.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Taking ownership of construction, fault-finding, and maintenance repairs, aiming for a first-time completion while remaining within budget and time parameters
  • Keeping all supplied company assets in good condition, in line with company policies, and reporting any damages to your Supervisor/Manager
  • Utilizing existing stock or collecting materials as and when required to meet works order requirements, in accordance with standard operating procedures for purchasing and van stock control compliance
  • Attending informal and formal meetings and training sessions as required

We are looking for candidates with a core trade in Carpentry or Plumbing experience, specifically in Tiling, Painting & Decorating, Plastering, and Floor laying. Social housing background is also essential. We value teamwork, good communication skills, and a UK full driving license. To drive a Mears vehicle, you must be aged over 21, have held your license over 3 months, and have less than 9 points.

In return for your hard work, we offer a competitive salary of £37,550 per annum, plus a company vehicle and fuel card. You will also enjoy:
