Quality Assurance Specialist

At Taiko Foods, we are seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. The successful candidate will conduct regular inspections, implement quality control procedures, and ensure compliance with food safety regulations. The Quality Assurance Specialist will collaborate with production teams to identify and resolve quality issues, maintain accurate records of inspections, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

This role requires a keen attention to detail and a commitment to excellence. The Quality Assurance Specialist will be responsible for:

• Auditing Critical Control Points (CCPs) to ensure CCPs are under control
• Checking compliance to Food Safety and Quality Management System procedures (QMS) including control measures for Allergens
• Conducting Good Manufacturing Practice audits (GMP) audits / Compliance Observation Process (COP) checklist
• Investigating complaints
• Checking products against factory product specifications to ensure compliance with specifications, legality, and consistency in quality and reporting any out of specification
• Checking staff compliance to company hygiene rules and reporting any issues to the QA Manager
• Monitoring temperature of chillers and freezers through daily manual checks using a calibrated probe and conducting various temperature checks on food products
• Quarantining any non-conforming product or equipment that may affect the final product quality or safety and reporting to QA Manager immediately
• Collecting check sheets daily from factory areas
• Reporting any non-conformances as they arise to QA Manager and ensuring non-conformances are sent each day by email
• Acting on any requests raised by QA Manager or Quality Manager (including sample collection, temperature checks)
• Keeping documented records of all checks and recorded information required by the QMS or as instructed by QA Manager
• Leading by good example and complying with all procedures
• Becoming a Fire Warden and First Aider when required
• Ensuring all Technical equipment is in working condition at all times
• Calibration and verification of equipment as advised by the QA Manager
• Conducting and participating in the taste panel
• Reporting the daily wastage record
• Being flexible to assist with other jobs within the Technical Department as required
