About the Role
O.C.O Technology Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Manager to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for the management of our day-to-day financial function and will play a critical role in driving excellent performance across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Lead and manage a small finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Produce monthly management accounts for the UK, ensuring accurate and timely closure of the month-end reporting cycle, and providing insightful analysis of business performance to the UK Management Team and Board of Directors.
- Lead the financial planning cycle, including the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
- Partner with operations and commercial teams to optimize business performance and drive growth.
- Regularly review and reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Manage cash flow, ensuring the business maintains a healthy working capital position and robust cash forecasting framework.
- Manage banking relationships, including reporting under facility agreements.
- Ensure compliance with all VAT, PAYE, corporation tax, and other financial regulations and standards.
- Develop and maintain appropriate systems and internal controls, ensuring they are monitored and maintained to meet the current and ongoing needs of the business.
- Ensure all Company policies and procedures relevant to the role are complied with.
- Manage the external audit process, working closely with auditors to produce statutory accounts for sign-off by the Finance Director.
- Support the Finance Director on future projects, including new systems, process enhancements, and strengthening internal controls.
- Provide ad-hoc reporting and project support as requested by the Finance Director or the Board of Directors.
- Assist with the upkeep and promotion of the Company's Management Systems, including the Competency Management System and IMS.
- Demonstrate a customer-centric approach to project and day-to-day work.
- Lead and develop members of your team by empowering them to increase their skills and knowledge.
- Carry out Health and Safety observations.
- Be a role model for Health and Safety and professional standards of conduct.
Requirements
- ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified with post-qualification experience in a similar role.
- Previous experience of leading and mentoring a finance team.
- Proven business partnering skills.
- A willingness to be hands-on within the role and be part of the team.
- Ability to build effective relationships, work well with others, and engage with people to form strong relationships.
- A proactive nature, flexible approach to driving change in processes, systems, and controls.
- Excellent attention to detail, along with strong IT and systems knowledge, including an in-depth understanding of accounting software and Microsoft packages.
- Effective communication skills, able to articulate any message clearly and listen to others.
Desirable Qualifications
- Knowledge of the Waste/Aggregate/Haulage markets.
- Knowledge of Sage 50.
Qualifications
- Fully qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA (or equivalent) with post-qualification experience.
- Full UK driving license.
