Advanced Practice Nurse

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and passionate healthcare professional to join our team as a Nurse Associate at Affinity Care Primary Care Network.
About the Job:
- The successful candidate will work as part of the practice nurse team under the guidance of a Registered General Practice Nurse.
- You will provide and maintain a high professional standard of nursing care, adhering to current local and national guidelines.
- Responsibilities include providing holistic and proactive care to patients, working within your own level of competency, and expanding your role according to Affinity Care's requirements and your scope of professional practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake procedures as stated in the NMC standards of proficiency for Nursing Associates, including venepuncture, BP management, urinalysis, peak flow, spirometry, new patient health checks, pregnancy testing, stitch/clip removal, ear syringing, and wound management.
- Administer adult and child immunisations and vaccinations in accordance with national and local programmes under patient-specific directives.
- Be competent in anaphylaxis and resuscitation techniques, ensuring safe storage, rotation, and disposal of vaccines and drugs, and maintaining adequate stock levels.
- Offer comprehensive travel health advice to patients prior to travel, including malaria prophylaxis, safer sex, food hygiene, sun protection, first aid, and emergency medication, health insurance, and vaccinations.
- Recognise and understand the importance of observing, documenting, and communicating the signs and symptoms of child and adult abuse.
- Undertake cytology screening, including the audit of patients under the cytology programme.
- Work within all relevant practice and policy guidelines, infection control, chaperoning, patient-specific directions.
- Participate in the management of long-term conditions, such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and COPD management, undertake disease management clinics, and provide specialist nursing care for patients or communities served by the practice.

- A competitive salary of £32,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience.
