Job Title: Clinical Lead Dietician

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Dietitian to lead the delivery of high-quality Dietetic services and optimize nutritional care for our patients. As a Clinical Lead Dietician, you will be part of our innovative and forward-thinking team of Allied Health Professionals who work in a supportive environment with a strong quality focus.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. To develop and lead the dietetic service for HPB and Upper GI oncology, working closely with Upper GI dietetic colleagues and the Dietetic team.
  2. To contribute to a multi-professional approach to patient care, participating in MDT HPB clinics and ensuring high-quality continuity of patient care for HPB and Upper GI oncology patients.
  3. To liaise with other HPB and UGI specialist dietitians in surgical and non-surgical centres to ensure seamless patient care.
Person Specification:
  • Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
Desirable:
  • Attendance at courses, conferences, or study days supporting dietetic knowledge and practice
  • Evidence of leadership courses relevant to the post
  • Food Safety certificate
Knowledge and Expertise:
  • Good knowledge in clinical dietetics, particularly in nutrition support
  • Specialist knowledge across a range of nutrition and dietetic procedures
  • Understanding of audit and its role in clinical practice/service development
  • Knowledge of policies, procedures, and guidelines relevant to this role
  • Awareness of dietetic products and clinical reasons for use
  • Understanding of NHS structure and systems
  • Awareness of cultural diversity and equality issues
  • Experience of providing clinical supervision to team members
Experience:
  • Good experience in nutrition support at senior level
  • Working with a multi-disciplinary team
  • Supervision/mentoring of junior staff, assistants, and students
