Purpose of Role:

The role of Early Years Apprentice is to deliver exceptional care and education for children. The individual will be responsible for working with a team to ensure the nursery is compliant with all regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:
  1. Support and promote diversity and equality
  2. Work collaboratively with others, sharing ideas and feedback to create consistency
  3. Demonstrate the HEART principles in everyday working life
  4. Use initiative and show resilience to take responsibility for getting things done
  5. Work in partnership with parents/carers and other professionals
  6. Create the right environment to offer a unique experience for our parents and children
  7. Demonstrate and ensure good practice and compliance with the revised EYFS Framework
  8. Understand the importance of keeping everyone safe
  9. Practice positive behaviour management techniques
  10. Meet the individual dietary, health, comfort and care needs of each individual child
  11. Have a child-centred approach, ensuring the activities on offer meet the children's needs and are age appropriate
  12. Contribute to children's records through observation
  13. Attend staff meetings and training sessions
  14. Work alongside your assessor including attending all training required for completion of the formal qualification
  15. Have the ability to manage own time to complete required coursework in the given timeframe
  16. Drive own development through active participation in appraisals, one to ones and requesting supervisions where required
  17. Promote the nursery to current parents and potential customers
Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

  1. Willingness to undertake formal Level 2/3 Early Years qualification
  2. Good numeracy and literacy skills
  3. Willingness to gain Functional Skills in Maths and English Level 1/2

Desirable:

  1. Full and relevant Level 1 (or above) Early Years qualification
  2. A-C grade in Maths and English
  3. First Aid or 12 hour Paediatric First Aid qualification
Personal Attributes:

The ideal candidate will have the ability to empathise and understand a child's view, show resilience and determination to succeed, and communicate clearly with both children and adults using a variety of techniques.
