About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering with industry knowledge of machining/CNC to join our dynamic team at DN Colleges Group.
As a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering, you will be responsible for teaching and assessing students across a range of programmes, including apprenticeships, further education, and work-based learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching and Assessment: Deliver engaging lessons and assess student progress, ensuring learning goals are met.
- Curriculum Development: Develop learning materials and contribute to the continuous improvement of the curriculum.
- Student Support: Provide guidance and support to students, helping them to overcome challenges and succeed in their studies.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in course verification and quality assurance processes to maintain high standards.
- Programme Management: Coordinate courses and manage the day-to-day running of programmes, including timetabling and student administration.
- Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated in your specialist area.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: Relevant professional technical qualification at a minimum of Level 3, and a teaching qualification (or willingness to achieve one within the first 6 months).
- Experience: Substantial industrial experience in mechanical engineering and experience in a lecturing or training role within the Further Education sector.
- Skills: Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire learners.
- Knowledge: Specialist knowledge of CNC or machinist is essential.
