Head of Sales for Energy and Crane Markets

About the Role
Bekaert is seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Sales to lead the commercial efforts across Europe for the Energy and Crane markets. This role will involve driving sustainable, profitable growth by managing key accounts, building distribution networks, and executing strategic growth initiatives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading a talented sales team, developing new geographic markets, and utilizing digital tools to enhance efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a structured sales plan that capitalizes on current opportunities and secures new business across Europe.
- Lead the commercial team, ensuring alignment with Bekaert's policies in recruitment, performance management, compensation planning, and team development.
- Set and review annual sales and profit forecasts, analyzing market trends, and creating strategies for accurate forecasting with 90-95% accuracy.
- Penetrate new geographies and markets by implementing field sales action plans, distributor agreements, and trade promotions.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with key customers and decision-makers through regular engagement and tailored solutions.
- Stay ahead of industry trends by identifying new business opportunities and understanding evolving customer needs.
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven track record in leading and motivating sales teams, with strong relationship-building skills.
- Extensive experience in sales leadership, preferably with a background in technical selling and business-to-business solutions.
- Ability to develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive sales strategies that drive growth and profitability.
- Cultural competence and understanding of operating across diverse cultures in a global environment.
- Pragmatic, process-oriented, and able to resolve complex challenges.
Qualifications
- Degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
- Strong financial planning and strategy skills.
- Ability to manage time and territories effectively, setting and achieving sales targets.
- A second European language is an advantage but not essential.
