Key Responsibilities
- To identify and locate faults, and perform necessary repairs on a wide variety of electronic and electrotechnical components, including locating and identifying faults on printed circuit boards (PCBs) and printed circuit assemblies (PCAs).
- To identify electronic components and understand their operation and uses.
- To possess a high standard of soldering skills and have knowledge of various solder joints.
- To identify equipment test requirements and conduct testing to component level.
- To assemble equipment, test sets, and assemblies from provided drawings and documents.
- To assemble wiring and repair/modify looms, and populate various types of military and aviation connectors.
- To solder to the IPC 7711/7721 standard.
- To strip survey equipment and produce build plans/procedures and kitting lists.
- To possess a working knowledge of CAD packages and other test and simulation software.
- To have a good understanding of analogue electronic circuits and discrete digital circuits, including both fault-finding and design.
