About the Role

We are seeking a Trainee Conductor to join our team at Southeastern. As a Trainee Conductor, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and comfort of our passengers on board our trains.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure passengers feel welcome and safe on our trains
  • Check and issue tickets, communicate with the train driver, and deal with any problems that arise
  • Keep passengers informed and assist them in resolving any issues

Training and Development

As a Trainee Conductor, you will be enrolled in our Conductor Apprenticeship Programme. This will include a mix of classroom-based and on-the-job learning, covering topics such as functional skills, safety procedures, and customer service.

Shift Patterns

You will work a varied shift pattern, including weekends, bank holidays, and nights. Shifts can start before the first train departs in the morning and finish after the last train has dispatched at night.

Requirements

  • Passion for delivering excellent customer service
  • Face-to-face customer service experience
  • Ability to work well under pressure and make good decisions
  • Excellent communication and IT skills

Location

Successful candidates will be required to live within a 15-mile radius of our depots in Tonbridge, Ashford, and Faversham.
