About the Position

Mears Group seeks an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support the repairs and maintenance teams in ensuring a safe working environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for advising, monitoring, and implementing effective health, safety, and compliance practices to safeguard employees, contractors, and residents.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure that all repairs, maintenance, and associated activities are conducted in compliance with relevant health and safety legislation, regulations, and best practices.
  • Risk Assessment & Management: Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and method statements (RAMS) to identify hazards, assess risks, and recommend control measures.
  • Audit & Reporting: Conduct internal audits, site inspections, and compliance checks. Prepare and present reports on health and safety performance.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a health and safety role, preferably within the social housing or construction/maintenance sectors.

Estimated Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum depending on experience.
