About the Role

We are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support a class with high percentages of pupils with additional and complex learning and behavioural needs.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting pupils with diverse learning needs, planning and delivering small group interventions, and promoting pupil engagement with academic learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualised support and guidance to students, promoting their academic and personal development
  • Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to create comprehensive support plans for pupils with SEN, including autism and ADHD
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and carers, promoting effective communication and collaboration
  • Be proactive and adaptable, taking into account the needs of the individual and tailoring support and strategies accordingly
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with students with SEN
  • Strong understanding of different SEN and effective strategies for supporting students, including behaviour management strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers
  • Dedication to promoting inclusion and equality in education
