About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Flood Risk Management Consultant to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a key member of our Water Management Consultancy, you will play a crucial role in delivering projects that have a positive and sustainable impact on the world.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed technical work, including hydraulic modelling, data analysis, and GIS.
  • Develop and agree on the scope of services, costs, and resources for projects.
  • Manage and supervise junior resources, and support project managers and directors in delivering projects.
  • Collaborate with environmental scientists, engineers, and planners to provide a consistent and integrated service to clients.
  • Support business development activities, including tendering for projects and client/stakeholder engagement.
Requirements
  • A degree in Geography, Science, or Civil Engineering, and ideally an MSc or further postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject area.
  • Chartered or Fellow status with CIWEM or ICE.
  • Extensive experience in flood risk management, with demonstrated project delivery and meeting client requirements.
  • Leadership experience, including developing and leading technical teams, and supporting and mentoring staff.
  • Decision-making skills, with the ability to make robust decisions based on available information.
  • Technical skills, including proficiency in 1D-2D modelling using tools like Infoworks ICM, Flood Modeller, TUFLOW/ESTRY, or HEC-RAS, and experience with GIS.
