Job Title: Senior Software Developer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Developer to join our team at L3Harris Flight Data Services. As a key member of our software engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coach and mentor team members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed
  • Undertake software development tasks, prioritizing tasks in line with our strategy and delivering safety solutions on-time to our customers
  • Foster innovation and work in a high-performance agile team that delivers value
  • Communicate and work closely with team members to ensure code quality, design fidelity, and expertise is shared
  • Interface with key clients that have software development requirements
  • Design, test, and develop new features from internal and external customer requests
  • Maintain and improve internal and external software systems and applications
  • Apply agile software development and test-driven development methods to software development activities
  • Provide internal and external training of internally developed software systems
  • Ensure software releases are to plan, achieve acceptable quality, and follow the release procedures
  • Maintain quality processes and technical product documentation
  • Clearly and regularly communicate with management and technical support colleagues
  • Design and update software databases, including software applications, web sites, data communication processes, and user interfaces
  • Test, maintain, and recommend software improvements to ensure strong functionality and optimization
  • Independently install, customize, and integrate commercial software packages
  • Identify ideas to improve system performance and impact availability
Requirements:
  • Expertise in Python programming and the Django Python framework
  • Expertise in at least one other Python framework, such as NumPy or pandas
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery
  • A very good understanding of databases and SQL
  • BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
