Job Title: Emergency Care Assistant

Job Summary:
Are you a qualified Emergency Care Assistant looking for a challenging and rewarding role? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team at Central Medical Services, a professional and reliable private medical service working for both the NHS and private clients alike.

About the Role:
This role will respond to emergencies, events, and general appointments, working alongside a paramedic/EMT to provide patients with potentially life-saving care and transportation to hospital. You will be required to assist a qualified practitioner in the delivery of high-quality and effective clinical and personal care, as well as carrying out allocated operational duties commensurate with the role and responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure a continuous duty of care to patients within the level of training and competency of this role, maintaining an appropriate level of monitoring and treatment.
  • Provide a clear handover report when the patient is handed into the care of another health professional, recording all pertinent patient information.
  • Drive approved ambulance vehicles under normal and blue light circumstances, adhering to the standards of the service and road traffic law.
  • Carry out general vehicle checks at the start of and during each shift to ensure the readiness of the vehicle.
  • Maintain a competent working knowledge of medical and life support equipment carried on vehicles, appropriate to the required skill level and scope of practice.
  • Support qualified practitioners in the use of equipment and provide relevant information from carers or others at any scene, reporting to qualified practitioners, healthcare professionals, or other relevant agencies as required.

Essential:
  • FREC Level 3 and FREC Level 4
  • Recognised blue light qualification (e.g., IHCD / Level 3 Emergency Response Ambulance Driving)
  • Full UK Clean Driving Licence with a minimum of 2 years' experience
