Job Overview

As an Advanced Pharmacist Lead, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to the Endocrine Department. Your primary role will be to provide management of the local office, ensuring the timely turnaround of outpatient letters, clinic results, and other correspondence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide the first point of contact for the department, dealing with queries and delegating tasks where possible.
  • Manage the local office, prioritizing workload to meet deadlines and ensure efficient correspondence flow.
  • Provide cover for other secretarial staff when needed, including across all hospital sites.
  • Identify the need for clinic cancellations, preparing relevant paperwork in accordance with Trust policy.
  • Liaise with the cardiology booking team to optimize outpatient clinics, particularly for urgent appointments.

Main Duties:

  • Minute taking for departmental meetings.
  • Provide guidance and training for junior team members, acting as a mentor for Trainee medical secretaries.
  • Work with junior secretarial and administration staff to plan annual leave, ensuring office cover and secretarial support.
